- Uses fair trade, specialty, single-origin coffee beans
- Complex flavor profile with the richness and intensity of Vietnamese robusta tempered by arabica’s lighter, brighter notes
- Brews well in regular drip coffeemaker, espresso machine, French press, moka pot, phin filter, vacuum pot
SaiGon OG is Cafely’s flagship coffee and is the most flavorful in its collection. The first sip gives you this robust, full-bodied coffee flavor with smoky, earthy, and nutty notes. But as the intense flavors fade, you get to appreciate the lingering sweet, fruity, and floral notes of arabica.
2. DaLat Coffee — Most Caffeinated Arabica Coffee
What Sets This Coffee Apart:
- Made with 100% Vietnamese arabica beans
- Sourced from single-origin farms in Vietnam
- Has all the goodness of arabica’s complex flavor profile but packs a more potent caffeine punch
- Brews well in regular coffeemaker, expresso machine, pour-over, AeroPress, French press, cold brew, moka pot
Want arabica coffee with a little more oomph? Then this is your coffee. DaLat’s flavor profile is distinctly arabica’s with its bright acidity, subtle floral and fruity notes, and velvety smooth finish. But be prepared. This one packs a pretty potent caffeine kick.
3. BanMe Coffee — Strongest Peaberry Robusta
What Sets This Coffee Apart:
- Made with 100% peaberry robusta sourced from high-quality, shade-grown peaberry robusta

- Low acidity, has a very intense coffee flavor, smooth finish
- Brews well in drip coffeemaker, espresso machine, French press, moka pot, vacuum pot, phin filter, AeroPress
BanMe offers a stronger, more pronounced coffee flavor than regular robusta, but it has a touch of subtle sweetness and rich, dark chocolate and cherry notes that elevate your coffee experience. These beans are pretty potent but deliver a clean, no-shakes, no-jitters energy.

Why is Vietnamese Robusta Coffee Unique?
Many factors make robusta coffee unique [4,1].
- Caffeine: Vietnamese robusta coffee has double the caffeine content of arabica coffee. Its caffeine content is also higher than regular robusta.
- Antioxidants: Vietnamese robusta coffee typically has more antioxidants than arabica.
- Acidity: Vietnamese robusta coffee is less acidic than arabica beans.
- Flavor: Vietnamese robusta coffee has a more intense and robust coffee flavor than arabica beans.
Drinking robusta coffee also offers many health benefits, from improved mood to reduced risk of developing chronic health problems. Studies have also shown that coffee drinkers live longer than those who don’t drink coffee [4].
FAQs on Vietnamese Robusta Coffee
Want to learn more about Vietnamese coffee? Then read on!
1. Does All Vietnamese Coffee Contain Condensed Milk?
No. However, most styles of Vietnamese coffee use condensed milk, such as Cà Phê Sữa Nóng (hot coffee with condensed milk) and Cà Phê Sữa Đá (iced coffee with condensed milk). Other popular Vietnamese coffee styles with condensed milk include Cà Phê Trứng (coffee with condensed milk as well as egg foam) and Cà Phê Cốt Dừa (coffee with coconut milk and condensed milk).
One coffee style though that doesn’t use condensed milk is Cà Phê Đen Đá, which is plain black coffee with no milk, creamer, or sugar.
2. Which is Beter, Hot or Iced Vietnamese Coffee?
Both versions taste good. However, Vietnamese coffee is traditionally served hot, while iced coffee becomes more popular during the summer months.
3. What’s the Ideal Grind Size for Vietnamese Coffee?
For traditional Vietnamese coffee, use a phin filter and medium-fine or medium-coarse grind size.
For other brewing methods:
- Fine Grind: Espresso and Turkish coffee
- Medium-Fine Grind: Moka pot
- Medium-Coarse Grind: Regular coffeemaker and pour-over like Chemex and Hario V60
- Coarse Grind: French press, cold brew, and percolator
4. Can You Have Vietnamese Coffee Every Day?
Yes. But do remember that Vietnamese robusta coffee is highly caffeinated, so you should limit your intake to no more than 400 mg of caffeine per day (about two to three cups) [3].
5. How Healthy is Vietnamese Coffee?
Drinking Vietnamese coffee is healthy and offers many health benefits. It can boost your mood, clear your head, and improve physical performance. It can also reduce your risk of developing chronic health problems like diabetes, heart issues, colon cancer, and liver problems. Coffee consumption is even linked to a longer lifespan, compared to non-coffee drinkers [4].
Do know though that the healthiest coffee is plain black coffee without sugar, milk, or creamers.
