Dive Brief:
- Target announced Friday it is bringing back the same prices as last year for its basket of Easter meal items.
- Priced at just under $25, the package features nine items, including a 6-pound ham, ingredients for green bean casserole and stuffing — but does not include eggs.
- The promotion comes as retailers and grocers look to cater to shoppers amid heightened concerns over high grocery prices and the potential impact tariffs could have on food costs.
Dive Insight:
Target’s Easter meal basket continues the retailer’s ongoing competition with Walmart and grocers who also offer food bundles associated with specific holidays and packages that spotlight savings.
While Walmart highlighted the price per serving of its Easter meal this year, Target continues to emphasize the total cost for its bundle — similar to its approach last year.
Target’s 2025 Easter meal bundle features a mix of store brand and national brand items with the latter including a box of Stove Top turkey stuffing mix, a 12-ounce jar of Heinz gravy, a 14.5-ounce can of Del Monte cut green beans, a 20-ounce can of Del Monte pineapple slices and a 10.5-ounce can of Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup. The store brand items include the Market Pantry ham, French fried onions, 5 pounds of russet potatoes under the Good & Gather brand, and Favorite Day take-and-bake baguettes.
Along with the nine-item Easter meal bundle, Target’s website is also spotlighting a selection of seasonal desserts, ingredients for an Easter brunch and deals on select items, such as baking ingredients starting at $3 and sweets starting as low as $1.50.
Target’s Easter brunch offerings include a dozen Grade A large eggs, a dozen mini strawberry frosted donuts and 1 pound of cut bacon, all for $4.99 each. Leaning into the strawberry and seasonal flavors, the brunch items also include Califia Farms strawberry creme refresher, actual fresh strawberries and strawberry-flavored whipped cream.
The Easter meal is part of Target’s larger “Garden party” seasonal merchandising push both in- store and online.
Online, customers can find spring-themed content and, at the retailer’s stores, they can spot shop-in-shop installations inspired by a garden house as well as carrot-themed decor, bunny pawprints, faux flowers and butterflies, and candy displays.
