Krasdale Foods’ banner CTown kicked off Labor Day weekend by opening the doors of its largest store yet.
The store, located at 1110 S Washington Avenue in Scranton, Pennsylvania, further expands the grocery brand outside of the Metro New York City region where it was founded.
The new CTown location, which opened Friday, boasts “over 27,000 square feet of a reimagined grocery experience,” including the largest selection of international foods in the area, according to a news release. It will also serve up hot foods from its store kitchen, provide home delivery and host monthly raffles with a variety of prizes.
“This is a supermarket that all of Scranton deserves, a store that puts community first and which will offer the convenience, quality and familiarity that only a true neighborhood supermarket can provide,” store owner Jerry Marquez said in the press release.
Established in 1975, the CTown banner operates stores in all five New York City boroughs. It also operates numerous locations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including a store in downtown Philadelphia. Each store is independently owned an operated.
A 114-year-old family business, Krasdale Foods provides its banners, including CTown, Aim, Bravo, Market Fresh, Stop 1 Food Mart and Shop Mart Food Markets, with merchandising, marketing and grocery distribution services. With its homebase distribution warehouse in Bronx, New York, Krasdale Foods has been expanding operations beyond New York City and into New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
