BJ’s Wholesale Club has a new home. The club retailer officially moved into its new Club Support Center headquarters in Marlborough, Massachusetts, after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the end of September, according to a company press release Tuesday.
The Club Support Center, located at 350 Campus Drive, can house over 1,000 BJ’s team members and features new technology in a “modern open-space” concept, the announcement notes. To relocate, BJ’s requested and received a tax increment financing deal (TIF) from Marlborough, the MetroWest Daily News reported.
The new location is only a few miles from the wholesaler’s previous headquarters in Westborough, Massachusetts, the outlet noted. However, this new location puts BJ’s in a more central, urban setting.
“Our new Club Support Center will serve as our home base while we continue to expand our enterprise, serve a growing membership of over 6.5 million members and extend our footprint,” BJ’s President and CEO Bob Eddy said in the announcement.
BJ’s noted that it held its ribbon-cutting celebration for the new headquarters during the same week it opened its first location in Indiana. This is the retailer’s 231st club location and marks the 18th state where it operates stores, the announcement notes.
The Indiana store continues the retailer’s streak of store openings this year, including an innovation lab called BJ’s Market in Warwick, Rhode Island, and locations in new markets like the greater Detroit and Pittsburgh areas.
